What is the Caroline County Democratic Club (CCDC)?
The CCDC is a community-run, community-funded organization powered entirely by
local residents—not big donors or outside interests. We work to advance progressive
values across Caroline County by supporting Democratic candidates and pushing for
policies rooted in equity, accessibility, and sustainability. As a grassroots group, every
event, resource, and initiative we organize depends on the support of our neighbors.
Our mission is simple: build a better Caroline, together!
Our next meeting is Tuesday, October 21st at 5:30pm. We'll be discussing Reproductive Rights. Location: Denton Public Library. We hope to see you there!
What we do at the Caroline County Democratic Club
After going idle for almost 5 years, the Caroline County Democratic Club (CCDC) is back in 2025! While we’re still rebuilding and gaining momentum, we have a growing group of amazing volunteers that are working together to expand our scope to truly create a more powerful and progressive culture in Caroline County Maryland. We’re doing this in the following ways:
Publicly listing local government meetings:
We believe all of our elected leaders matter, especially the local leaders that have a direct impact on our communities. It’s currently not easy to know when our leaders are making decisions, and on what. The best way to communicate our beliefs on local issues is to know when and how to be involved. The CCDC publishes this list in hopes of making our leaders more accessible so we can express our progressive values, and to advocate for new leaders that better share our values of a more equitable Caroline County.
Host Monthly Meetings to Discuss Policy Impacts on our Community and Neighbors:
Local, state, and federal legislation has major impacts on our community. Unfortunately, it’s often written in a way that can be hard to understand––sometimes using terms and verbiage that can be hard to understand, not discussing the practical applications or reasoning for policy, or representing itself in a misleading way. The CCDC board does research on the real impacts of legislation and compiles that research into material that we can all understand and discuss. The board also reaches out to experts on the material, so that they can join our meetings and provide accurate and clear information. And answer any questions that club members may have.
Providing Community Support and a Platform for Democratic Candidates:
The results are telling. Republican led regions have higher rates of wealth inequalities, a less fair system for everyone, lower life expectancies, and lower educational outcomes. The values of their leaders are leaving their constituents behind. We believe that every Caroline County resident deserves leaders that advocate for adequate care. That look to support the people of Caroline County so that they can all thrive. CCDC will support platforming candidates that seek to improve our community. Candidates that will make our community a better place for every resident.
Provide a Social Space for Progressive Thinkers:
The values that we hold dear can sometimes leave us feeling isolated and even in danger. It’s often hard to feel that topics can be discussed with others in a safe way. It can feel like the true values of our region are lost in a sea of red anger. Which is why the CCDC strives to be a safe place and social outlet for all progressives in Caroline County.
Seek and Provide Community Resources:
When our neighbors are in need, we come together to help them strive! No matter the issue. Whether you don’t feel safe, or are looking for a way to improve your life, we’re here for you, and we want to connect you with resources for your situation. We’ve collected, compiled, and categorized dozens of resources for our community and are continuing to do so each month. Need additional resources?
