The Parents Place of Maryland

The Parents’ Place of Maryland was founded in 1990 by families, professionals, and community leaders who recognized the urgent need for support, resources, and reliable information for parents of children with disabilities and special health care needs. Grounded in the philosophy of “families helping families,” the organization embraces the power of lived experience and cultural diversity to guide its work. As Maryland’s Parent Training and Information Center and Family-to-Family Health Information Center, The Parents’ Place is staffed primarily by parents who have navigated similar challenges and now empower thousands of families each year to advocate for their children with confidence, compassion, and knowledge.
